In addition to its low industrial tax rate, North Bay offers several financial incentive programs that help offset both operating and capital project costs. Our industrial parks offer fully-serviced land at attractive prices, choice of location and size of parcel, combined with Municipal, Provincial and Federal incentives.
While the following section highlights some of the incentive programs that are available, we encourage you to contact a member of Invest North Bay to help find a solution for your specific needs.
The North Bay Jack Garland Airport (NBJGA) is recognized as a key economic driver and is vital to the economy of North Bay and area. A critical mass of aerospace/aviation firms involved in a wide range of assembling, manufacturing, repair and overhaul (MRO), charters, flight services, and training activity are already present on the airport lands.
The goal of the ACIP is to assist in the successful development of an attractive Airport Business Park by means of providing Municipal Tax Assistance, Municipal Fee Rebate Program, and Landfill Tipping Fee Reduction.
This program refunds the municipal portion of property tax associated with the improvements. The grant equals 100% of the increase in the Municipal portion of the taxes in year one, decreasing to 66% in year two, and 33% in year three. The owner pays the full amount of taxes in year four.
This program waives industrial development charges and provides a refund of the municipal fees including Planning, Legal and Building Permits related to development approval
The City provides a reduction in the landfill tipping fees associated with the clean up of the site. Assistance is in the form of a reduction in tipping fees paid at the City’s landfill site.
Through the Development Application Review Team (DART) all the staff members that you need for your project are available at once to review your proposal and give you comments right at the table. The DART reviews all development applications and Site Plan Control Agreements to ensure that we are doing everything we can to move your project forward quickly and to meet project deadlines.
