Incentives and Assistance

In addition to its low industrial tax rate, North Bay offers several financial incentive programs that help offset both operating and capital project costs. Our industrial parks offer fully-serviced land at attractive prices, choice of location and size of parcel, combined with Municipal, Provincial and Federal incentives.

We encourage you to contact a member of the Economic Development team to help find a solution for your specific needs.

Municipal Incentives

The City's new Growth Community Improvement Plan is designed to help grow the community through city wide programming for industrial development and targeted intensification for housing and downtown waterfront commercial projects with a number of financial incentives.

Expedited Permitting

Through the Development Application Review Team (DART) all the staff members that you need for your project are available at once to review your proposal and give you comments right at the table. The DART reviews all development applications and Site Plan Control Agreements to ensure that we are doing everything we can to move your project forward quickly and to meet project deadlines.

No Industrial Development Charges

North Bay's pro-active business City Council has eliminated industrial development charges, implemented a 20 year commercial tax reduction strategy and has reduced industrial taxes by 66%, to one of the lowest levels in Ontario.

Competitively Priced Land

The City of North Bay offers a variety of municipal owned site options for development, including 600 acres of fully serviced air and ground side parcels for sale or lease at North Bay Jack Garland Industrial Business Park, and commercial acreage at the south entrance to the City, all competitively priced.

Close proximity to major transportation routes and access to advanced telecommunication network make North Bay’s industrial properties an excellent expansion or relocation option.

Corporate After Care Program

The City of North Bay is committed to ensuring companies are well served during and after their expansion project or relocation to the community. Through our network of partners, including the North Bay & District Multicultural Centre, the North Bay New Comer Network (NNN), Service Club of North Bay and the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce companies can access community integration and settlement services for their employees and their families. Our Corporate After Care program ensures that new investors have access to the types of resources and professional services needed to thrive in our community.

Additional Municipal Assistance

The YYB North Bay Jack Garland Airport Corporation and the City of North Bay take a coordinated approach to aviation related investment projects. Airport and City staff are available to assist with all aspects of your expansion project from location review and site selection to grand opening and community integration.
